About us

Study Support by Gray Matters was founded on the goal of helping others and is committed to delivering quality study support to university students. Our Study Support Coaches come from a range of employment and educational backgrounds so they are full of experience and knowledge to pass on to you!

Our Values

Student Centred
Study support is always led by the student’s needs, tailored to their strengths, and adapted to their personal, educational, and professional goals. We respect students’ dignity and display compassionate curiosity. Safe spaces and non-judgemental vibes only.

Empowering
Study Support is designed to meet you where you are and guide your development of critical skills, tools, and resources. Aside from learning content and bolstering academic performance, we aim to build your self-confidence, self-esteem, and the psychological resources for flourishing.

Relatable
Sure, our team have experience and expertise, but that’s not the only reason you’ll adore them. Each team member is down-to-earth and authentically themselves. We believe in laughing while we learn.

Driven by Integrity
We won’t risk your degree (or ours!) by doing the work for you. We want you to be the reason you succeed.

Atticus D. Gray

Atticus graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and is currently completing his PhD. He delivers seminars at Deakin across a variety of Psychology undergraduate units and is passionate about effective teaching. He loves games of all sorts and enjoys facilitating social learning through roleplaying games when the option is there. His hobby is pursuing self-education and he’s embraced online learning.

He lives by the words of one of his namesakes, Atticus Finch of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird: “Before I can live with other folks I’ve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.”
